Health Care Directives

Take control of health care issues by choosing an agent to speak when you cannot.

Life is unpredictable and often out of our control. While you are still able to make determinations regarding your health, consider completing a Health Care Directive to choose who will speak on your behalf and what options they may have.

Doctors and hospitals can get caught in a bind when your family members disagree regarding how to handle issues related to health emergencies, long term hospitalization, timing of death and the handling of your remains. Though these topics can be difficult to consider, rely on Ken to discuss these matters in plain English with patience and compassion. Take control and choose today how you want things to be handled in the future before your health declines.

How Ken can help

  • Name the agent who makes medical decisions for you
  • Record the treatment you do and do not want
  • Give your family and your doctors something clear to follow
  • Keep it consistent with your will and your power of attorney

Where to start

Call and describe your situation. The first conversation is free, and Ken will tell you what you need — including if it is less than you thought.

Or send a message.

What to expect

Two visits, and it is done

Most estate plans take one conversation and one signing appointment. Here is how that works.

First visit

We talk it through

You explain what you have and who you want to look after. Ken listens first and then tells you what he would recommend, in plain language, at the pace you need. There is no charge for this conversation.

In between

Ken prepares your documents

Ken drafts everything your plan needs. You are told what it will cost before any work begins, so the figure never moves after the fact.

Second visit

You review, sign, and take it home

You read the documents through together and Ken makes changes there and then. You sign, and you leave with your finished plan in your hands. For most clients that is the whole thing done.
