Trusts
Trusts allow you to control the timing and management of your assets long after you have passed.
Without a trust, every gift of real estate at death will be required to go through probate to be sold and distributed to heirs.

Trusts give your successor Trustees the ability to manage the assets you placed in the Trust when your health declines. Your successor Trustees can do this without paying court and legal fees to obtain a conservatorship. Trust assets can be distributed within months of your death, or last for generations as needed. Trustees can be chosen to manage property and choose when and if payments are made to your heirs. If any of your heirs are receiving government disability payments, you may wish to use a trust to limit how much is paid out to your heir to avoid ending those payments.
Discuss your wishes with Ken and learn how you can use a Trust to ensure your assets are distributed at the right time and in the right circumstances.
How Ken can help
- Keep the assets the trust holds out of probate
- Set when and how beneficiaries receive what you leave them
- Provide for a beneficiary who cannot manage money themselves
- Amend a trust you already have

What to expect
Two visits, and it is done
Most estate plans take one conversation and one signing appointment. Here is how that works.
First visit
We talk it through
You explain what you have and who you want to look after. Ken listens first and then tells you what he would recommend, in plain language, at the pace you need. There is no charge for this conversation.
In between
Ken prepares your documents
Ken drafts everything your plan needs. You are told what it will cost before any work begins, so the figure never moves after the fact.
Second visit
You review, sign, and take it home
You read the documents through together and Ken makes changes there and then. You sign, and you leave with your finished plan in your hands. For most clients that is the whole thing done.
